In Don Juan, Canto XV, stanza 57, Byron describes a rakish pair:

SPACERHalf virtues and whole vices being combined:
Faults which attract because they are not tame,
SPACERFollies tricked out so brightly that they blind.
These seals upon her wax made no impression;
Such was her coldness or her self-possession.

Byron's influence on Pushkin and Lermontov constitutes an important Anglo-Russian connection.
