will generally not resemble
silver. You must acquaint yourself
with its internal characteristics.

Hardness: soft, between Selenite
and Calcite. Dense; Specific
Gravity: 10.5. Highly ductile.
Tenacity: remarkably

malleable. Fracture: hackly.
Distinct isometric
crystals infrequent. Often poorly developed,
reticulated, arborescent threads.

Compound Ores: Polybasite
with Sulphur and Antimony.
Black streak, metallic luster, irony
to cherry in thin slivers, tabular prisms.

Proustite—"Light Ruby"
with Arsenic, Streak: rich
cochineal to scarlet. Prized for rare
massive transparent crystals.

Embolite—"thrown between"— Chlorine, Bromine.
Greenish, darkening
on exposure to light. Argentite—
"Silver Glance"; sectile—easily cut with a knife.
